Manuel Beltran of team Liquigas has tested positive for EPO (subject to B test, blah, blah, blah) of all things, how retro.

How not to deliver a basket of cookies containing LSD to the police.

Posted on July 11, 2008

Picture the scene for your community service you are forced to work for the Mother Against Drink Driving campaign. Why this campaign exists is a mystery, presumably there is an assumption that mothers generally sit on the fence when it comes to drink driving but anyway I digress. Knowing your duties include delivering cookies to cops you and your friends are having a smoke and discussing ways to subvert your duty when you stumble upon the crime of the century. Sprinkle LSD over the cookies. What could go wrong with a plan decided upon in a haze of dope smoke?

It was discovered the cookies contained LSD after staff at Blue Mound thought the cookies smelled of marijuana and sent them for testing.

Cops have a nose for this sort of thing. You think they haven’t had hash cookies dropped by a million times before?

The moral of the story is simple.

If you plan on delivering a basket of trippy cookies to the police don’t smoke a ton of dope on the way.

Google: bike there.

Posted on July 10, 2008

Isn’t it about time Google added a ‘bike there’ option to maps? There are some places bikes can go and cars can’t and vice versa. Sign the petition.

busy few days

Posted on July 10, 2008

I’ve just spent the last 24 hours getting get-shirty.net up and running and setting up the automatic posting of a few select items while I’m away in a few weeks time and I’ve just started work on another blog so I can keep this one free of posts about gadgets and other geek stuff and keep it to be about me and mine. Right now I’m off to look for some paying work, wish me luck.

Wordpress.com stats not working?

Posted on July 9, 2008

If you are having problems with the Wordpress.com stats plugin the problem is probably in your theme. Make sure you have the line <?php wp_footer(); ?> in your footer.php or index.php.

I couldn’t understand why hits didn’t get logged to get-shirty.net which I think was due to the footer not calling the wordpress actions.

I still love t-shirts

Posted on July 9, 2008

:)

Spidey Car is a metro!

And to represent that fact in blog form I’ve taken the domain that was going to be a t-shirt shop a few years back and used it to blog about my favourite designs from around the world.

Everyday I see a dozen t-shirts I’d love to own and my wardrobe (and floor) are testiment to my love of the art form that is the t-shirt. So to save boring people who want to hear my views on things other than t-shirts and the t-shirt crowd who aren’t in the least bit interested about my views on programming I thought I’d seperate them out a little.

I do so love a good t-shirt.

Coming soon, a technology blog because 99% of all things featured on technology blogs are boring press releases with pretty pictures, but for now the t-shirts have the floor.

Sir Clive Interview

Posted on July 9, 2008

I feel I can call him Sir Clive as he was so nice to me when I mobbed him (almost single handedly) as a geeky teenager outside the headquarters of Mensa. Clive and I are tight (street jive not going well, it’s still somewhat grammatically correct and I called it jive, I think this is sick, or is it?)

Add IPM Radio4’s channel to your page

As featured on Radio 4 last week this is pretty much the whole thing uncut. I’m popping out for a while but I’ll be catching the whole interview later.

via some place I’d never heard of called Boing Boing ;)

Tile fringe maker.

Posted on July 9, 2008

A cool looking tool for making tiles that link two different textures. I’m not working on anything tile based at the moment but I think I’m blogging this so I don’t forget it’s existence for next time. Windows and Mac (intel) versions available.
